The beat repeat is a buffering plugin. Depending on the rate and interval settings, it can play passed the end of a clip.

I suppose you could use multiple beat repeats in a rack and manually select them with the Chain Selector. That way only the selected beat repeat will play.

Another way to make the beat repeat thing happen is put a couple beat repeats in series on a track, set them to different settings, set the chance to zero, then assign a button on a MIDI controller to the "repeat" button, allowing you to trigger repetitions whenever you hit the button and only then.

To paraphrase someone above:

Is there any difference between this and just fading in the Dry/Wet value using a control surface?

dummy clips in session view with live guitar and P

Greetings,

I've been researching using live 8 with my guitar rig...my thought is to use the Line 6 podfarm "plug-in" and run it into a dummy track. I would like to be able to play/switch (in session view) my "click track and loop" (an AIFF or WAV file) and also switch effects for my guitar via midi on my line 6 XT Live. I need at least 5 or 6 different effects.

Do you think this is possible, and if yes....what is the best way to go about it.

Thanks!

You can automate the Chain Selector so you can switch between different effects that have their own chain in an Audio Effect Rack.

Check out this article for more on the Chain Selector: http://www.thecovertoperators.org/Articles/the-chain-selector-rules

Cheers
